Kasheta De La Garza

Kasheta served on active duty as a Navy paralegal for 24 years and brings extensive military law knowledge and experience to clients of KML.

Kasheta enlisted in the Navy in September 1997 and began her career as an undesignated Seaman in San Diego, California on board STEADFAST (AFDM-14). In March 2000, she graduated from Naval Justice School as a paralegal and, for the next twenty-two years, she served in nearly every facet of military justice. Her assignments included NLSO Norfolk, VA; RLSO Rota, Spain; NSW San Diego, CA; DSO Pacific, Yokosuka, JP; Commander, U.S. THIRD Fleet San Diego, and Commander Expeditionary Strike Group THREE. She has served on numerous military defense teams, investigation teams, and as command services advisor. Prior to retirement, Kasheta managed and led a law office of 11 military and civilian personnel where she was the enlisted legal advisor to the Commanding Officer of the Navy hospital in San Diego (Balboa), the largest hospital in the Navy.

Kasheta’s personal military decorations include, 8 Good Conduct Medals, 4 Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, 5 Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, 2 Meritorious Unit Commendations, 2 Humanitarian Service Medal amongst others. Kasheta holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Paralegal Studies.

Kasheta manages the KML front office and is the senior paralegal. She will likely be the first person clients or family members speak to and her wealth of experience in the military legal community makes her extremely qualified to answer questions about process and likely outcomes. As a result, clients and loved ones routinely comment on her ability to make them feel more informed and less anxious.

Kasheta joined KML in 2021.
